Farmstay Guests

We have farmstay accommodation which may be available for women or couples who wish to stay two nights or more.

Pohutukawa Place is a delightful furnished cottage, with spacious bedroom (containing a king-sized bed or two king singles) and ensuite, and with a splendid view of wetland, harbour and pohutukawa-fringed clifftops. It is especially suitable for longer-stay guests.

Kettlewell Cottage is an attractive single self-contained cottage overlooking our wetland and the Manukau Harbour.

Banana Bungalow is a simple self-contained sleepout, in a citrus and subtropical orchard behind our house. It has a queen-sized bed, and its own shower and toilet.

We can also provide farmstay accommodation for groups of up to eight women holding a retreat or workshop, using our home and one or more of our cottages.

WWOOFERS

We are registered hosts for the WWOOFing scheme. Willing Workers On Organic Farms undertake half a day each day, 5-6 days a week, in exchange for food and accommodation. On our land wwoofers live in one of our farmstay cottages, and work from 9am-1pm Monday to Saturday.

We provide breakfast and lunch foods and other supplies in the farmstay cottage, a shared morning tea break in our house at 11am, and we share dinners in the house some nights each week too.

We prefer as wwoofers mature women with a genuine commitment to, and some knowledge of, organic growing. As well as healthy organic food and comfortable accommodation, we provide a wide range of books, relevant magazines and articles, videos and dvds to support wwoofers in further learning about organics and about Aotearoa.

Those interested in wwoofing need to register; see www.wwoof.co.nz
