Self-guiding walks

By prior arrangement, you can visit our land and guide yourself around our 28 acres on well-established and sign-posted circular walking tracks. We'll give you an introduction, fresh organic fruit and fruit drinks, and a map and brochure. Each feature is numbered and described in the brochure. Some fresh organic produce and preserves may be available for purchase.

 Earthtalk peninsula tours

Exploring the Awhitu Peninsula

Arrangements can be made for personal or group tours of the Awhitu Peninsula for one or more days.
For instance, we have organised and hosted an elderly couple from Auckland for a two-day tour, and one day visits by Auckland garden groups, Olivia Women's Tour groups from the USA, a Produce Green environmental group from Hong Kong, and Peace Boat groups from Japan.

Tours include a welcome by mana whenua representatives, a guided tour of the Peninsula, with commentary on geology, Maori and later settler history, and flora and fauna. Visits will be made to some of the following, in addition to earthtalk@awhitu, depending on interests: the monthly Matakawau Country Market, the restored lighthouse at the Manukau Heads, the Awhitu Regional Park, the Pollok Coop art gallery, Awhitu Wines, Waimatuku wild west coast beach.

Transport by boat or train to or from Auckland, and by bus or car on the Peninsula, as well as catering and accommodation, can be arranged to suit.

Costs: negotiable
