“A House by the Sea…”

And what a stunning apartment 532 Caswell will be to live in!

Last Saturday we spent an hour and a half in our new apartment.  We were delighted by the views over gardens, flowering pōhutukawa and harbour, and were able to do some planning and measuring for the placement of furnishings.  It is all we had hoped for when we bought off-plan, and more.  We will be moving in on 26 January 2022.

Over the years we have both enjoyed reading the lesbian writer of last century, May Sarton, especially her “A House by the Sea” . And Tanya has always  sought cottages by the sea – at Titahi Bay, Haumoana in Hawkes Bay, and Laingholm –  then we had 22 years in our first home together on the coast of the Manukau Harbour: earthtalk@awhitu ; and now by good fortune we are on the coast of the Waitematā Harbour.

We are very grateful for these opportunities.

  1. Charmaine and Tanya,

  2. It looks stunning and I’m sure will refresh your spirits. I have been (re) reading May Sarton recently, since I am now writing in the Journal genre. (It’s more challenging than you might think). The sea was ever present for her, in all its changing moods. It seems perfect that you would come full circle, back to the sea. I’m so glad to hear that the move went smoothly. Have a peaceful summer solstice.
